2015 Proposed Budget/Special Business Meeting
This Sunday at Parkview
If you are a member or a regular attender of Parkview, you should have received a 2015 building fund pledge card in the mail last week. For those of you who made reservations for this Sunday, November 23, Thanksgiving meal, we ask that you bring your completed card with you at 6:00 p.m. We also want to say THANK YOU for your commitment and faithful giving to pay down our debt as swiftly as possible. If you did not sign up for the meal, commitment cards may be turned in through the church office or placed in the offering plate at any service.
Due to the Thanksgiving Holidays, there will be no Wednesday evening activities at the church on November 26; the church will close at noon on this day. The church office will be closed on Thursday, November 27, and Friday, November 28. The following Sunday, November 30, morning schedule will be as normal; however, there will be no evening service or activities.
Women at the Well
Please join us at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, November 20, for Women at the Well. Please bring a finger food for our fellowship time. We are looking forward to seeing you!
Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Trip
There will be an opportunity for anyone 13 years and older to go to Atlanta and help sort shoeboxes on Saturday, December 13. There is limited space available so please sign up on the Information Table if you want to go. We will leave the church around 9:30 a.m. Our shift at the warehouse will be 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m., so we will arrive home very late Saturday night. If you have any questions please contact the church office or Cindy Reid.
Ladies’ Tastin’ Bee
The annual Ladies’ Tastin’ Bee will be Monday, December 8, at 6:00 p.m. Bring an appetizer, dessert, or any favorite holiday recipe already prepared for everyone to taste, and a copy of the recipe. The recipes will be collected and made into a cookbook for everyone to have. Also, bring a Christmas ornament to play “Dirty Santa” after we eat.
We have received names from the Alabama Baptist Children’s Home, and have created an angel tree by the Information Table. We ask that you take an angel from the tree, purchase the gift, as well as wrap it, and return the items by Sunday, December 7, with the angel tag attached. We will be having a happy birthday party December 7 following the evening service. Everyone is welcomed to attend and bring their presents to the party. If you will not be able to attend the party their will be a drop box located by the tree.
Operation Christmas Child
Many thanks to those of you that filled shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child. 261 boxes were delivered to Central Park Baptist Church, the local O.C.C. drop off location for our area.
The Backpack Ministry is in need of food. A list of accepted items is available at the Information Table and donations can be placed in the designated box. Monetary donations are also accepted and can be made by using the special offering envelopes. If you have any questions, please contact Mary Laney.
