Located next to the Information Table is a bin filled with small gift bags.  Please take some to give to cashiers at stores when you check-out, to a server at a restaurant, or to anyone you may come into contact with during this Christmas season.  Each bag contains information about Parkview, a bookmark with Scripture, and candy.  This is a great way to invite others to church as well as brighten someone’s day.

Throughout December, you may send your church friends and family a Christmas card by using the mailbox at the Information Table. The cost for each card is 25¢. All proceeds go to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering. In order for the mailbox to run smoothly, please file the cards by recipient’s last name. Everyone be sure to check the mailbox frequently for mail you may have received.

The youth will be having our annual Christmas Party on Saturday, December 17 at 6:00 p.m. in the Fieldhouse. We are asking all students to bring finger foods (drinks will be provided) and a $5 gift for dirty Christmas. There will be lots of fun to be had at this party so make plans to attend.

On Sunday, December 18 at 3:30 p.m. we will divide into several groups for Christmas caroling as we visit a number of homebound and others in our church and community.  We will meet in the Sanctuary, determine our groups, go over the carols, and get our visiting assignments.  Following the caroling, we will return between 5:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.  At 6:00 p.m. we will have a church-wide chili supper for those who participate in the caroling.  Please indicate on the sign-up sheet at the Information Table how many in your family will be participating in caroling and the meal.  This event will involve children and students.

December 4th begins the week of prayer for international missions.  The National Goal for International Missions of the Southern Baptist Convention is $155 million dollars. Our goal locally as a church is $12,000.  Offering envelopes can be found in the pew racks or in your box of tithing envelopes.  We will receive this offering throughout the month of December and January.  The Lottie Moon Christmas offering is named for Lottie Moon who served as a missionary in China for over 30 years in the late 19th century and early 20th century. The Lottie Moon Christmas offering provides half the resources needed to sustain and support over 4,000 missionaries around the world. Without this offering Southern Baptists’ international missions efforts would cease to exist.

Join us on December 11 at 6:00 p.m. as the children’s ministry will be presenting “Wrapping All the Way.” The Jungle Room class will also sing at the beginning of the Children’s Presentation.
