Thank you Parkview family for your faithful support to FNES and the Backpack Ministry this school year. Over the past 10 months we have donated over 1,026 food bags with a total of over 10,000 food items!! We have also supported FNES teachers in various ways such as donating paper and disinfecting supplies, teacher treats, hosting a reception for incoming kindergarteners, and a teacher appreciation luncheon. This ministry would not be possible without your faithful contributions and support. Thank you for a great year! Mary Laney

On Saturday, June 3, we will be packing sack lunches (sandwich, chips, and cookie or brownie) to take to people in the ICU waiting room at Decatur Morgan Hospital. We will also provide a tray of sandwiches or pot of soup, etc. and a dessert for the nurses working in ICU. We will meet at the church at 10:30 a.m. to pack the lunches. There is a sign-up sheet at the Information Table to help with the sack lunches. Anyone interested in volunteering to prepare something for the nurses please contact Tammy Benton.

There will be a parent meeting about Children’s Camp on Wednesday, May 31 at 6 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall.  Tammy Benton will be there to notarize forms.  The final payment for camp will be due that day.

The church family has received an invitation to the wedding of Miss Lauren Adams and Mr. Dylan Jones. Their wedding will be at Parkview on June 10 at 5:30 p.m.

Sav-A-Life Pregnancy Center’s Baby Bottle Drive will be going on throughout the month of May. Empty baby bottles are available for pick-up at the Information Table. These fill up nicely with change, bills, or even checks! (Please make checks payable to Sav-a-life.) There will be a drop-off box available to return bottles at the Information Table.

We need people to prepare and deliver casseroles for our homebound ministry.  The casseroles can be prepared in advance and stored in the deep freezer at the church until delivery day on Sunday, June 4, 2017.  Please mark the container as “Homebound.”  Prepare a main dish casserole in an 8 x 8 or round disposable container, bring it already frozen with cooking or reheating directions attached.  If you prefer, soup or chili would be good also, just make sure it is in disposable containers and already frozen.  Make sure that whatever you prepare would serve as a stand-alone meal so the recipient will not have to try to cook anything to go with it in order to have a meal.  On delivery day, there will be names, addresses, and maps for each person that needs a casserole.  How many you deliver depends on how many volunteers show up to help.  On delivery day, we will meet in the kitchen at 3:00 PM.

During the Month of May, the Deacon body will be taking recommendations/nominations for Deacons to serve for three years starting in August. We will be replacing six deacons that will be rotating off. The nomination forms and collection box are located at the welcome center. Please prayerfully consider who you will nominate to serve taking in consideration information listed on the form. If you have any questions please see Randy Lindsey or any actively serving Deacon (listed on form).

The dates are July 2-6 and the cost is $175 per student. There are a few spots remaining, and a $50 deposit is required to secure a spot. The youth summer camp will be at Shocco Springs this year.
