LADIES’ TASTIN’ BEE
The annual Ladies’ Tastin’ Bee will be Monday, November 7, at 6:00 p.m. in the Activity Room. Bring an appetizer, dessert, or any favorite holiday recipe already prepared for everyone to taste, and a copy of the recipe. The recipes will be collected and made into a cookbook for everyone to have. Also, bring a Christmas ornament to play “Dirty Santa” after we eat.
There will be a bridal shower in honor of Miss Lauren McCoy, bride-elect of Mr. Jesse Martin, on Sunday, November 6 from 2:00 pm—3:30 pm in the church Fellowship Hall. The couple is registered at Bed, Bath, & Beyond.
OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD
The O.C.C. information and shoe boxes are available at the Information Table and the commons area as you enter the playground. The boxes will need to be returned by Sunday, November 13.
ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHERS MEETING
Sunday, October 23, 2016 at 4:00 P.M. in room 202 there will be an adult Sunday School teachers meeting led by Chip Alexander. Your attendance and participation is encouraged. Thank you.
On Saturday, November 5, we will be packing sack lunches (sandwich, chips, and cookie or brownie) to take to folks in the ICU waiting room at Decatur Morgan Hospital. We will also provide a tray of sandwiches or pot of soup etc. and a dessert for the nurses working in ICU. We will meet at the church at 10:30 a.m. to pack the lunches. There is a sign-up sheet at the Information Table to help with the sack lunches. Anyone interested in volunteering to prepare something for the nurses please contact Tammy Benton.
There is an outreach opportunity on Friday, October 28 from 6 pm until 9 pm at Point Mallard Park. We will have the church tent up and will be handing out candy and cookies to the children. We will also have a game set up for the kids to play. There is a container at the Information Table for candy donations. If you would like to donate cookies or man the tent please sign up at the Information Table.
TRUNK OR TREAT
In the past we have had a Fall Festival on the Sunday before Halloween. Due to our new Discipleship Classes, we will host a Trunk or Treat at our church on Monday, October 31. There are two ways that you can help make this a success. Please bring in candy and place it in the bin next to the Information Table. Also, please sign up to decorate a trunk. We will try to have all the cars in place by 5:30 pm. The top three trunks will win a prize!
The pumpkins are here and we need your help to help man the Pumpkin Patch. The Patch will open on Friday, October 7 and will be open Monday-Saturday from 10 am to 6 pm. We would like to have 2 people for each 2 hour slot. Once again we will be accepting credit cards. This will be a really easy process and you do not have to be technology savvy to be able to do this. Please sign up at the Information Table for whatever time slots you can work. Thank you for your help.
