               January 19  - 6:00 p.m.

This meeting is being moved from its regular schedule of January 12.

2019 Giving Statements are now available and may be picked up at the designated table in the Information Center.

The Senior adults will be having a stew luncheon on Tuesday, January 21 at 11:30 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall. Stew, dessert and drinks will be provided. Please bring either crackers or cornbread. The sign-up sheet is available at the Information Center.  Please sign up today if you will be attending.

The church has been invited to the Bridal Shower of Natalie Adams, daughter of Steve and Sandy Adams. The shower is Sunday, January 26, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. Natalie is the bride elect of Jeremy Walker and is registered at Bed Bath & Beyond.

Valentine’s Day is fast approaching, so that means it’s time for casserole and rose deliveries to our widows, widowers, homebound and elderly members. We’ll be delivering roses and casseroles/soup or chili. I need volunteers to prepare the food and volunteers to deliver. As in the past, prepare a main dish casserole in an 8 X 8 inch or round disposable container, bring it already frozen in a disposable container with cooking or reheating directions attached. You may substitute soup or chili frozen in a disposable container. Make sure that whatever you prepare would serve as a stand-alone meal, so the receiver will not have to try to cook anything to go with it to have a meal. The food needs to be at the church on or before 10:30 a.m., Saturday, February 8. Since everything will be frozen, it would be fine to bring the food sometime during the week before, just label it for the Valentine delivery and put it in the freezer in the kitchen. I will be at the church from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. that Saturday and will be handing out names and directions for deliveries. This is a huge undertaking and  many volunteers are needed to be succesful. A sign-up sheet is at the Information Center. We need about 50 casseroles or containers of soup/chili, and enough volunteers to make about 50 visits. Making this a priority will take only a couple of hours of your time and will mean so much to you and the recipients. Please contact Tammy Benton for more information. Thank you.

The C.C.C. is working in conjunction with several other agencies to offer GED classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The students are present for several hours, so breakfast and lunch are served. The C.C.C. is in desperate need of churches/small groups to provide food for both meals and workers to serve the lunch meal. There needs to be enough food to feed 30 people at each meal. Breakfast needs to be at the C.C.C. by 8:30 a.m. and needs to be biscuits for the students to pick up as they come in. Lunch does not have to be fancy, but needs to be already prepared and at the C.C.C by 11:15 a.m. If you can help with this ministry or have questions see Tammy Benton or Greg Ethridge.

There are a few extra Tastin’ Bee Cookbooks available. If anyone would like one, please see Tammy Benton.

D-Now will be February 14-16. If anyone is interested in being a host home, please let Jeremy know ASAP.

It’s time to begin planning for VBS. This year VBS will be June 14 - June 18 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. each evening. Please let Dewana know where you would like to volunteer for VBS. Thank you for your support.

Each week at Promiseland we have a letter of the week and we also have a word and Bible verse to go with that letter. Last week was N week and in chapel our verse was “love your neighbor as yourself”. We sang songs, watched videos, and talked about how to love others. It is hard to believe we are already over half way through our letters for this year. It is exciting to know that the kids have worked on learning 14 verses so far this year. We continue to review our verses each week in order to hide these words in their hearts.

Minister to Preschool and Children, Ashley Holmes

Providing an effective children’s ministry involved a critical need for volunteers from within the church. If you are interested in serving in ANY facet of ParkviewKids, please do not hesitate to let Miss Ashley know! We are always looking for volunteers to help love on our babies and kiddos!

ParkviewKids: Security

Here at ParkviewKids, we value the safety and respect of our children as well as our parents. We use a system called KidCheck to check children in and out of our facilities in order to ensure they are picked up by the right people. If you do not have a KidCheck account, please take the time to create one and add your child online at kidcheck.com. If you have used KidCheck at a previous church or facility, your account should still be accessible from our computers. This check-in process also allows us to document allergies, attendance, and other special needs that may arise.

ParkviewKids: 5th/6th Grade

Sunday Morning
Our 5th and 6th graders meet together in room 400 for Sunday School with Shawn and Shana Johnson. They do not have their own worship service like the children do, but instead go to “big church” to worship alongside their families!
Sunday Evening
FLYTE (Faith & Life Together) is a Bible study curriculum for kids ages 10-12 – one that speaks to what they’re dealing with right now, not what’s past or in their future. Our 5th/6th graders love FLYTE and we are excited to continue this study!
Wednesday Evening:
Wednesday nights for our 5th/6th graders are a special time of Bible Study. We like to take studies that our preteens can use in the current phase of life, and implement them every day. We have previously done studies on Experiencing God, the Armor of God, and How Sin is Like SLIME!

Our Vision

Here at Parkview, we see a specific need with our 5th/6th grade age group. They are not yet ready for the youth, but they are also starting to feel they have “outgrown” the children’s ministry. We (and the kids) love having this opportunity to be their own ministry sect of PVK.. We allow them to have more privileges and opportunities that they might not receive in the younger age groups, while still keeping studies and activities at an age appropriate level. Our goal is to teach them to be great leaders within ParkviewKids, while also preparing them Biblically for their time ahead when they move into Fieldhouse Student Ministry..
