JIMMY MEEK: Senior Pastor

Jimmy became the senior pastor of PBC in February of 2020. He is married to Beth Ann who he says is his better half and compliments his weaknesses. They both love Jesus and enjoy studying the word together. They have two dogs who think they are human and are treated as such.

Jimmy was a teacher and a coach for 12 years. He played college baseball at UAB and thought he would be coaching forever until Jesus changed his desires. He made a "decision" for Christ at age 6 but did not know he was lost until he became a follower of Jesus at age 36.

Since then, Jimmy has pastored churches in Alabama, Mississippi and Arkansas. He holds a Political Science degree and a Master's in Education from UAB. He also received a Masters of Divinity from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.

Jimmy has been given a burning desire to expose "unsaved" professing Christians here in the Bible Belt to the glorious good news. It has also given him a burden to make disciples who make disciples. Jimmy desires to see the lost become truly converted and to discover the joyful mission our King has given us.

"God made Christ, who had no sin, to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God."

JEREMY MEETZE || Student Pastor

Jeremy was called to serve The Lord in an unusual place; working as a prison guard. He grew up in the church, but never thought that he would go into ministry. Following high school graduation, he went into law enforcement and worked in the Florida Prison System. Through that, God really softened his heart for teenagers and gave him the desire to serve them.

He graduated from The Baptist College of Florida in 2016 with a degree in Leadership/Christian Education. He also holds a Masters of Theological Studies from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Jeremy identifies with one bible verse in particular; Psalm 46:10 || Be still, and know that I am God.
The world that we live in is so fast, and so distracting that we have to be reminded to be still and remember God is still God.

DANA FARRIS || Preschool & Children's Director

Dana came to faith in Christ at the age of 12. She grew up in Decatur attending Grace Baptist school, Decatur High School, and graduated from Athens State College and UAB with a master's degree in early childhood education. Dana joined Parkview in July 2020.  She loves teaching children about Jesus!  Her prayer and vision for children is that they will know and honor God, setting their hope in Him alone, so that they will live as His faithful disciples for His glory.

She retired teaching kindergarten and first grade in Decatur City schools while serving her former church, Central Baptist in preschool ministry. She also teaches Good News Clubs and serve on the Child Evangelism Fellowship Committee, North Alabama Chapter.

  She is marred to Phillip Farris, an army man who loves God and country almost as much!  Her son Kyle (23) attends Athens State College and her son William, (19) attends University of Mobile.  You’ll find her on the bike trails or golf course when she is not working on the next Bible story to teach!

Her favorite verse is Philippians 1:27 "Only let your manner of life be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that wether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of you that you are standing firm in one spirit, with one mind striving side by side for faith of the gospel."
